First announced last year, the sequel to 2003's Bad Santa looks to have found a director. Deadline reports that Hot Tub Time Machine helmer Steve Pink with both rewrite and direct Bad Santa 2 with Billy Bob Thornton returning as Willie.

The Terry Zwigoff-directed original co-starred the late Bernie Mac and John Ritter, as well as Lauren Tom, Lauren Graham and Tony Cox.

The dark comedy was made for about $23 million and earned $76.5 million at the worldwide box office.

Pink is also known for his screenplays to the John Cusack comedy dramas Grosse Point Blank and High Fidelity.
