Producer Molly Smith (P.S. I Love You, The Blind Side) has formed Belle Pictures, a production banner to develop and produce theatrical motion pictures and television properties in association with Warner Bros.-based Alcon Entertainment in a new four-year discretionary first-look deal, it was announced today by Smith and Alcon Co-Founders and Co-CEOs Andrkew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

Belle Pictures is actively developing a slate of projects, the first being an adaptation of The Bootlegger's Boy, legendary football coach Barry Switzer's memoir, which looks at his life and years coaching at Oklahoma University and the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.

Patrick Massett and John Zinmann (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Friday Night Lights) are in negotiations to pen the adaptation. Smith is producing with Thad and Trent Luckinbill, the brothers who brought the project to the Company. Alcon will finance the film.

Allison Rayne has been tapped VP of Development at Belle Pictures, Jon Schumacher will serve as Creative Executive and Emma Branch as Production Executive.
