Jake Gyllenhaal is now slated to play the lead in Albert Hughes' Motor City, Variety reports. He replaces the previously announced Dominic Cooper in the Warner Bros. film.

The revenge thriller is being developed through Dark Castle and sees an ex-convict tracking down those that framed him to get revenge.

Gyllenhaal, who last starred in Source Code, will appear opposite Amber Heard and Gary Oldman with production planned to begin shortly.

UPDATE: Deadline is now reporting that Jake Gyllenhaal's talks for the role fell apart because of his schedule, so the search is back on for a leading man.
