November 2, 2011

ComingSoon.net's ShockTillYouDrop.com has a first look at a promo image for Summit Entertainment's Warm Bodies featuring Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer.

Written and directed by Jonathan Levine, the film opens on August 10, 2012 and also stars Rob Corddry, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton, Dave Franco and Cory Hardrict.

In the movie, when a highly unusual zombie rescues a girl from imminent death at the hands of his cohorts, their unlikely romance sets in motion a chain of events that will transform him, his fellow dead, and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

I'm in. Loved Levine's All The Boys Love Mandy Lane and really liked The Wackness.

I loved the Wackness...but I just can't see a Zombie love affair..a la ..Twilight working. I mean...it just sounds stupid. In most Zombie films the creature can't speak, and only seems to think about eating...what kind of crazy idea is it to have a love affair with a Zombie. Vampires I can kind of understand...the mythology is steeped in sexuality...but not so much with zombies

Yes its a romantic and comedic, should be good. And its something different and new, which is what Hollywood should be doing more of.

Warm Bodies is a brilliant book, but it seems pretty difficult to adapt to a film. It's hard to explain unless you read it. But this first promo shot looks terrible, very Twilight-ish, and the book is nothing like that.

The book is amazing. What the poster really needs, is just 'R'. More zombied up of course, too. But I think, the marketing team might thing cight' s like this will sell because of the 'Twilight' phase.
Warm Bodies is NOTHING like 'Twilight'. I also always pictured 'R' in a suit and a LOT more...dead.

I liked this book but was worried when I found out Summit got the rights (please god any other production company) and it looks like I was right to be worried.
