With no announced follow-up to the recent success of his X-Men: First Class, The Hollywood Reporter has word that director Matthew Vaughn is interested in two different comic book properties, both from writer Mark Millar, the creator of Kick-Ass, which Vaughn previously adapted for the screen.

Superior, published by Marvel's Icon imprint, is illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu and is officially described as follows:

Ollie Janson had it all going for him: plenty of friends at school, good looks, and his coach called him one of the most talented basketball players he's ever seen. But that was when he could still move his legs. Now he's living with multiple sclerosis, missing all the little things he used to take for granted, and escaping into the world of movies and comics with his best friend. Then... Superior entered his life.

The Secret Service, meanwhile, is being kept secret until mid-November, but was announced earlier this week at Comic Book Resources and received a teaser in this week's release of "Superior" issue six. Written by Millar and illustrated by Dave Gibbons (best known for his work on "Watchmen"), the book will be released in February of 2012 and is based on an idea by both talents alongside Vaughn himself.

It is noted that Vaughn may go with a smaller project first, though he currently controls the film rights to both properties. It is suggested that if he takes The Secret Service, he will likely be involved with the screenwriting process as well.
