Variety reports that M.C. Gainey ("LOST") is in talks to play Big John Brittle in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Brittle is one of the overseers of the Carrucan Plantation.

If cast, he would join Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell and Laura Cayouette in the Weinstein Company film.

Django (Foxx) is a freed slave, who under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter (Waltz) becomes a badass bounty hunter himself. After assisting Waltz on taking down some bad guys for profit, he is in turn assisted by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner (DiCaprio).

Production is expected to start in November for a release date on December 25, 2012.
