Chris Hemsworth (Thor, upcoming Marvel's The Avengers) is attached to star in Columbia Pictures' Shadow Runner, it was announced today by Hannah Minghella, president of Production for Columbia Pictures. The forthcoming motion picture will be produced by Tripp Vinson and Beau Flynn of Contrafilms, and Will Ward of ROAR.

The film is based on an original idea by Hossein Amini (Snow White and the Huntsman, 47 Ronin), who will executive produce the project. Shadow Runner's plot is being kept under wraps.

Commenting on the announcement, Minghella said, "We think this story is a terrific action thriller for Chris Hemsworth and we know this project in is great hands with Tripp, Beau, and Will as they develop the film."

Minghella, Rachel O'Connor and Adam Milano will oversee the project for Columbia Pictures.

Hemsworth can also be seen in the upcoming Red Dawn, The Cabin in the Woods and Snow White and the Huntsman.
