James Cameron is gearing up for a return to Pandora and looks to have found a place to begin rebuilding it. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that the filmmaker is setting up shop at MBS Media Campus in Manhattan Beach, CA and that Cameron's company, Lightstorm Entertainment will potentially make the location their new base of operations.
Avatar 2 and 3 will be shot back-to-back and will make use of the MBS's enormous production stages (the article suggests that Cameron may be renting as much as a sixth of the lot's 580,000 feet of soundstages and office space), likely combining his offices and soundstages into one, singular unit.
Marvel Studios also has productions based out of MBS and most recently used soundstages there to film the Asgardian portions of their upcoming Thor.
Avatar 2 is planned for December 2014 with a second sequel tentatively set to follow in December 2015.
