Ving Rhames, who stars in the upcoming Piranha 3D, revealed on Wednesday's episode of Lopez Tonight that he'll return as Luther Stickell in Paramount's Mission: Impossible IV. He played the character in the first three movies.

He'll be joining Tom Cruise and possibly Simon Pegg, who is reportedly in talks to return as Benji Dunn, in the Brad Bird-directed action thriller scheduled for a release on December 16, 2011.

J.J. Abrams is producing the fourth installment, written by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec.

The film is said to be targeting a September start.
