New Trailer for The Karate Kid

Columbia Pictures has released the new trailer for The Karate Kid, directed by Harald Zwart and opening in theaters on June 11. You can watch the trailer using the player below!

In the film, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying—and the feeling is mutual—but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts "the karate kid" on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life.

umnmmnn karate and kung fu are not the same thing at all..
so uhh why is it still called the karate kid?

looks cute. why not. we're do for a decent Karate Kid movie. i just find it funny that the kid is actualy learning Kung Fu and not Karate.lol

They really need to change the title or actually give a reason "in the movie" why it has karate in it. That's like having a movie called The Wrestler and the main character is a window washer.

why is this called the karate kid when it's clearly about kung fu?

and also why remake a movie that wasn't flawed in the first place?!?!?!?!?!?!?

This movie will be good! It is the NEW Karate Kid. It's not the 90's Karate Kid, so don't get on here and try to compare them! I'd pay 10 bucks to go and see it.

This sad excuss for a motion picture called a movie will make Bruce Lee's,"Enter the Dragon" and Jean Claud Van Damme's,"Bloodsport" film look better.

Pat Morita is probably still decaying in his grave and smells even worse since they remade this.

I agree. Why IS this being called Karate Kid if Chan is teaching him 'REAL' Kung-Fu???Idiots...........
