Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens Coming July 29, 2011

Universal Pictures announced on Friday that the Peter Berg-directed Battleship was moving from July 29, 2011 to May 25, 2012. That would have left the July 29 spot to only Sony's The Smurfs, but Universal now also says that the Jon Favreau-directed Cowboys & Aliens will be coming to theaters that weekend.

The DreamWorks project, based on the Platinum Studios Comics graphic novel written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley, will star Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof wrote the script.

The sci-fi Western explores what would happen if the traditional Old West enemies -- cowboys and Native Americans -- found the prairie attacked by aliens in mid-1800s Arizona.

Dane, I dont know if you've been reading up on the news... but everything will be filmed in 3D from now on. Fox, CNN, BBC, and C-span will be filmed "Live, brilliant, and in Realz3D" for the next 2012 election. Because we all know, 3D is even better looking then real life.

But hey 3D or no 3D Ill check out Native Americans and Cowboys Vs. Aliens... Sounds like good ole fashion fun!

Maybe Craig can get Wilde to be a Bond girl. She is smokin frickin hot (though I can't compete with her Italian Prince hubby). But she's absolutely beautiful, blonde or brunette, and would make a much hotter Bond girl than the sometimes-rumored yet long-past-her-hotness-prime Angelina Jolie.

Was really excited about this film Downey Jr. was in it. Daniel Craig....?? Mmmmm..... not sure about him. Liked him in CAsino Royale. Everything else, he sucked..... Not sure if he is the marquee name that Universal was looking for..........

HAGEN - I'll give you Snipes got stuck in Blade, but Chris Tucker? That's his own dumb fault. He got a huge ego and outpriced himself in Hollywood. It's why they replaced him with Mike Epps in the Friday sequels. Cube was trying to make the films with a low budget and Tucker wanted $15 mil. It's also why they took so long between RH2 and RH3. Chan was ready to go for years but they couldn't get around Tuckers $20 million price tag. They finally caved, and RH3 was still crap. It's why you just don't see Tucker anymore. He wants too much and can't carry a movie.
