This Means War for McG

February 4, 2010

McG is in negotiations to direct romantic comedy This Means War for Twentieth Century Fox.

Bradley Cooper and Reese Witherspoon are attached to star in the story of two best friends, inseparable since childhood, who fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon). The two men's bond disintegrates and their ensuing battle escalates to mammoth proportions, with New York City demolished in their wake.

Robert Simonds is producing.

He left 20,000 Leagues FOR THIS????!!!!!! Good. It suits his type of filmmaking much more than the remake of a Disney classic.

Ya whatever keeps him away from anything people actually care about; e.g. not this.

I just don't understand why people hand this guy money to do stuff. He is a truly awful director. There are so many fish in the see that seem more capable. I agree with William though, as long as he sticks to stupid crap I don't really care.

lol, i think its so funny that people sit here and bash directors, actors etc, when there is no way they could possibly do any better. Its really sad and get very old.

So all of the films he has directed were poorly written? When you pont fingers, 3 point back at you.

Sounds like a funny and interesting concept. Am I the only one who reads the title and thinks of Bugs Bunny?

He was responsible for the TV show Chuck, which I still watch on a regular basis, not everything from him sucks.

Leaving New York demolished literally? It sounds like a younger and more volatile version of "Grumpy Old Men", when you think about it. I dunno, I think McG is a good director who just keeps getting lackluster scripts.

@xantheus
I honestly think half the people on this site could do a better job directing than McG, and I'm very serious. He's that bad.
