Quaid, Hunt, Robb and Underwood to Star in Soul Surfer

Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, AnnaSophia Robb and Carrie Underwood, in her big screen debut, will star in the independent drama Soul Surfer, about teen surfing champ and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton.

Being directed by Sean McNamara, the project marks country music star Underwood's bigscreen debut.

The biopic, which started shooting this week in Hawaii, centers on the surf icon (Robb) who defied all odds to compete and win professional championships after losing her arm in a shark attack at age 13. Quaid and Hunt play Hamilton's parents, and Underwood has taken on the role of a church youth leader.

McNamara, Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz and Michael Berk wrote the screenplay. Lorraine Nicholson and Kevin Sorbo round out the cast.

Also i think Robb will replace Fanning one day at the young it girl in movies. I think she is great for that part.
It be nice to see Quaid in a right movie for a change as well

@Aubrey Titmuss; people like you should shut the **** up with that straight to DVD ****, this is an indie, not an illegitimate love child of Michael Bay and a ball of fire.
Do i think it sounds very good? not really
Do i like any of the cast? not particularly

but your ability to call straight to dvd releases doesnt portray an sort of intelligence and if you think people value your opinion (here and in life) you are sadly mistaken.

So Underwood will go from farm girl to American Idol winner to Multi grammy, CMA award winner to actress.

I think the role is perfect for her.

I remember hearing about this story when it happened and the possibility of a movie. Should be interesting

I hope that women whose face was torn off by that gorilla tries out for a sport next. I love these "triumph over adversity, true life stories".
