J. J. Abrams' Star Trek Sequel Sets its Stardate!

It looks like Paramount Pictures has decided at least on a tentative release date for J. J. Abrams' anticipated Untitled Star Trek Sequel as it stakes claim to the coveted pre-4th of July weekend of June 29, 2012. At this time, it is the only movie scheduled for June that summer, and absolutely nothing is known of the sequel except that one expects most of the cast introduced in the first movie to return.

as fun as it be seeing Khan or something they really shouldnt. the point of this new series shouldnt be to redo everything we've already seen, they've set the stage so they should just do original stories now.

Assuming they build on the first one, and if you saw the deleted scenes from the movie that were included in the DVD, it only makes sense to make the second one about Klingons. They could also use a Klingon vs. Romulan plot with the Federation in the middle of things. Either way, I think they should save Khan for #3. Introduce the character in #2, but don’t use him as the primary story line.

I don't see how they could do a plausible Kahn story in this timeline when Spock Prime would logically warn the Federation about the Botany Bay...and warn them NOT TO BOARD THE SHIP AND REVIVE THE CREW! A Kahn story would just be too much of a stretch.

They can have Kahn in it and still tske it to new places. I'm sure whatever they decide will be great.

It would be easy to pull off a Kahn story. It would be just as easy as to have Spock Prime pass away in the 2nd one before Kahn made an appearance. That isn't something that would be hard to do at all

Yeah, wouldn't want them to befall the same failure as that last Batman movie with that new joker character...(sarcasm)
