James Cameron's Avatar grossed another $18.29 million on Tuesday to push its domestic total to an impressive $250.4 million after just 12 days.

The $18.29 million is an increase over last Tuesday's $16.1 million and both numbers trail only The Dark Knight's $20.9 million on the all-time non-opening Tuesday list.

Internationally, the blockbuster has reached $476.2 million as of the 29th for a combined worldwide total of $726.6 million! Percentage-wise, the domestic take is 34.5% and the international take is 65.6% of that massive total.

I think it's safe to say that Avatar has somehow exceeded even the seemingly ridiculous expectations set up on it prior to its release. Now the big question is: Will it be the catalyst that launches 3D HDTV's and 3D blurays to mainstream success?

Good movie, great numbers it's putting up, and impressive, but HA!

It's almost close to doubling it's budget.

I am from Brazil and just loved the movie... Unfortunately 3D theathers are still not quite commum around.. I did not see it in 3D [but I'll do next weekend, have to go to another city, but I guess it worth the effort].

No, we need Terminator done right! With the franchise being auctioned off, it's HIGHLY unlikely that whoever gets the rights to the franchise will continue the canon. Could you imagine Cameron being given the reigns to reboot the franchise he created? If it's even half as good as his Terminator 3D Universal Studios show than it would be the greatest return to form for a franchise in cinema history.
