Christopher Eccleston (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, "Doctor Who") will play John Lennon in BBC Four's upcoming "Naked Lennon," reports Variety.

The film highlights the years from 1967 to 1971 when the Beatle was ending his first marriage to Cynthia as Yoko Ono entered his life, coping with the death of manager Brian Epstein and the group's own messy and acrimonious disintegration.

Naoko Mori ("Torchwood") will play Ono and Rory Kinnear has been cast as Epstein. Other cast members include Claudie Blakley as Cynthia Lennon and Andrew Scott as Paul McCartney.

"Lennon Naked" was written by Robert Jones, the co-creator of BBC TV drama "Party Animals."

Err... Chris Eccleston is currently older than John Lennon was when he died.

A 45 year old playing a 30 year old? Not so sure that's such a good plan.

Nice after two feature film playing a bad guy,we see him as nice guy.Its also nice to see usual people playing villain then turns around as a good guy like next year William Dafoe and Sean Bean while the good guy then for once is a villain like Sam Neil. Then again not if MORGAN FREEMAN is playing a bad guy.

I loved Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor. Naoko Mori was fantastic as Tosh in Torchwood and she has a resemblance to Yoko Ono. Sine I live in the US, I will purchase this from Amazon UK when it is released.

If by "resemblence" you mean "1000x better looking on her worst day than Ono was on her best", yes...

Tosh was hot. Yoko's not.
