A new trailer for Lionsgate's Daybreakers has come online and can be watched using the player below. Directed by the Spierig brothers, the film stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karvan, Michael Dorman, Vince Colosimo, Isabel Lucas and Sam Neill.

In the January 8 release, Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a researcher in the year 2019, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world's population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.

Cool trailer and I agree how could you go wrong with a cast with Ethan Hawk, William Dafoe and Sam Neil. This is what vampires are all about. There evil maneating monsters not sparkly pale teens.

The 'in a world full of vampires/few human survivors on farms' is also written by David Sosnowski, only his take is more humorous.

That said, this does look awesome.

saw the movie at the toronto international film festival. it was apart of the midnight madness films that were screening. all i have to saw that it blows everything out of the water in terms of action and horror in recent memory. can't wait to see it again in the new year.
p.s. the gore in the movie is totally awesome and in your face!!!
