Campbell Says Craven May Be Back for Scream 4

November 25, 2009

Neve Campbell told BlackBook that she's "pretty sure at this stage that Wes [Craven] is back on board to direct and Kevin [Willamson] is definitely writing" Scream 4. "It is going to be great."

Regarding her co-stars David Arquette and Courteney Cox, she says, "I haven't spoken to them in a while. I'm sure it took a while to convince them to take part [in the picture], especially because they're now a very happy family, and of course, it was a long journey for them. I think it's going to be a lot of fun, and a lot like going back to summer camp."

She adds that shooting will start in April. You can read the full interview here.

If they get a good script.. this will be good. They better not make the killer some random relative again.

Should be interesting new trilogy, and looking forward with it... I'd love to see a new trilogy of Back to the Future (IV to VI), but as the producers mention in the past it'll never happen. But, you know I can totally see that as trilogy too...

awesome news. glad everyone's back, including craven. I expect it'll be a big hit. And I think most fans of scream are excited for it - scream 3 was garbage, but i think everyone can ignore that one and know that after all this time they'll probably make something way more awesome.

Sounds like Kevin is working seriously hard on this script, he's a great writer and I bet he'll make it top notch. Just as long as he doesn't run out of steam like the original series did by the time it ended. I have faith, he's a great story teller.

Since Williamson didn't write the third one, you gotta think he still has some good ideas. The third one was terrible and Craven should have passed with a bad script. But with Williamson back, you gotta hold out hope it could be good. The first two are actually good movies.

I'm torn on the subject. Part of me would love to see another "Scream". But if it is anything less than spectactular, I will be disappointed.
