Variety says that Paramount has hired Mike White to write Santa Wars.

The comedy is based on the true story of rival factions that developed within a union of professional Santa Clauses who became arch enemies during a Santa Claus civil war.

"A remake? NOOOOOOO (insert more drama queen bawling) hollywood u ran out of ideas offical now this wil suck i'm boycotting even though i havent even seen the original and admit to it i just luv fitting in!!11!!!!!"

(original idea comes along)

"lol that sucks sunds stoopid" (instantly forgets about it and complains once again when a new remake comes along to whine about Hollywood being out of ideas.)

LOL at getsmart. I can just picture the trailer.

Narator: Long ago, a rivalry arose between two santas. See Santa Wars.
Peter: OH MY GOD! We are SO going to see this.
Brain: What the f**k was THAT?
Stweie: I don't know, but it looks good.

@Mr. Trick

Your post is the most honest comment ever on movie sites.

People keep whining about remakes and sequels, yet when a fresh, outside-the-box script or idea comes along, it's quickly denounced as "stupid", "retarded", or "awful".

PEOPLE, WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!!

People like these are the reason why there's a lack of originality in movies and TV today. Imagine the massive stacks of original scripts that or either rotting in the dumpster or a vault while a remake is quickly greenlit.
