War of Gods Becomes Dawn of War

November 19, 2009

Production Weekly reports that director Tarsem Singh's War of Gods is now titled Dawn of War and is scheduled to start shooting in Montreal in March.

Henry Cavill ("The Tudors") is expected to play Greek warrior Theseus, who battles against long-imprisoned Titans who are hoping to use the demons to restore their power.

The project was written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides.

about time this guy landed a big role, poor dude has been up for Batman, Superman, James Bond, Green Lantern, and Edward Cullen. Although I thought he was pretty lame in "Whatever Works."

I'm not sure about this one...Tarsem Singh directing an epic? What is he thinking?
And by the way The Fall is highly underrated, it deserves much attention that it actually had.

i love greek mythology monsters and flicks...but this one sounds way to similar to clash.
for the director: no one gave zack znyder good thoughts about being helmed for 300...and now 300 has become one of the best graphic-novel-adaptions.

Ray are you late on the pick up or what? The epic came back when the new millennium began with Gladiator, and I'm DAMN happy about it too.

Keep em' coming!

I wonder if there will be any legal friction between the studio producing this and the Warhammer/Relic people and their video game franchise Dawn of War: 40,000

I am so freaking excited for this, and yes The Fall is one of the most underrated films in recent history. See it its fantastic, and even if this movie is half as good as that was, it will still be decent.

The Fall is visually stunning. How it wasn't even nominated for best production design, best costume, or other nods is beyond me.

Both this project and the new "Clash" have been in development for years. "Clash" just got shot first, that's all.

Kickass! I'm in. And I guess 'Dawn of War' is better. Otherwise, people would confuse it with 'God of War'.
