Cho Thinks Khan Should be the Star Trek 2 Villain

John Cho was on-hand at the Star Trek DVD/Blu-ray release party and we talked to him about his new show "FlashForward." Although he couldn't say much, he did tell us a little about where he sees his character Demetri going.

"It's going really great. We're having a good time," he said, adding, "It's getting good from what I'm reading. I'm enjoying it, but it's a little aggravating not knowing what the hell is going on too far ahead. We have a major revelation about who might be murdering Demetri in the next couple of episodes. I think his most important relationships are going to be put to the test."

We also asked where he'd like his character, Sulu, to go in the next "Star Trek" film.

"This experience was very different for me as an actor because it was such an external thing for me. I've never done a big action sequence and never trained like that. It might be fun to go internal this time. I don't know what that might be."

As far as which villian he thinks should be brought back, Cho is leaning towards Khan.

"He is the baddest of them all in my opinion and the coolest hair cut. I'm ready to bring that cut back for my own self."

Well it would be the introduction of Khan and the prisoners of the Botany Bay Ship. A readaptation of 'Space Seed', which would be cool. But the Revenge would come later on, I can't wait to see the style of Klingon ships in this star trek Universe!!!

I for one am hoping they DON'T bring back Khan, at least for a couple more films.

Let's step back and take a look at this. Star Trek has just got back on form with a great film with a younger cast just starting off on their missions in space, not only do they need to build up the relationship between Khan and Kirk but also if they just brought back Khan for No. 2 it would just be a remake and the writers should not let that happen.

Plus, why remake an absolute classic that is still by far the best Star Trek film of all? It makes no sense...

Khan was awesome and will amke a great villain to see back in the franchise done in a cool new evil way.

Though i will always love the klingons. it would also be nice to see that romulan from the series where kirk finally gets his first glimpse of romulan, its late the names escape me right now lol

Sure, why not? and while we're at it, let's end part 2 with a cliffhanger where Spock saves the ship, and they fill a photon torpedo with his body and then the third one could be where they all go in search for his re-animated shell. They could call it "The Search for Spock"

Or not.

Maybe bring in a another villian. The second film or chapter of Star Trek should follow the formula of being slightly darker and complex. Wwe had the triumph of the 1st film now it is time to focus on the characters. A villan maybe within the federation.

Yeah, that'd be great. Let's see how the new Capt. Kirk can yell "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!"

Khan would be a difficult role to cast --- since Ricardo Montalban is no longer with us, what actor could convey Khan's sophisticated menace?
He'd have to be able to express a level of cultured evil, not merely the persona of a stern taskmaster.

Christoph Waltz of "Inglourious Basterds" doesn't have the Latin/exotic looks needed for the role, but he has that Khan-like "je ne sais quoi".
