Rambo V Changes Direction

Source:StalloneZone
November 13, 2009

Remember this? Fast forward to today and Sylvester Stallone has now told StalloneZone that they've changed their minds about Rambo V:

I'm letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished.

There will be blood.

The interesting thing is that that's the storyline the trades originally reported the project was going to go with. It was in August when the trades said the "storyline for the fifth film revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border."

Wow, he is trying to do a "Taken" kind of movie for Rambo V... Even thought Taken was an incredable movie, and now he is stealing some-what that idea...

Anyhoooo's should be interesting that next installment. I thought the last one was quite all right. I just wish he had better actors, but don't blame them which big name would sign with Sly, and rulen there careers...

i was digging the man-beast idea. i think you can only do so much with rambo, it seemed like a good turn.

Thank God! I'm so glad this manbeast plot has been scrapped! I do not have a problem with that plot whatsoever just don't have John J Rambo as the mian character. Sly knows what he is doing and this is a great call! Looking forward to seeing him hack up some cartel scum in Rambo V!

I am happy that they change their minds about Rambo hunting down the beast, that was a dumb idea.

Honestly, I think that whole man/beast thing was a joke by Stallone. I never took it seriously, and always expected that there would be another announcement.

I may be wrong, but it was just so ludicrous, that I always assumed he was joking around. Just like that Jurassic Park 4 script that was making the rounds, with the dinosaurs being weaponized and so many "insiders" were saying it was a real script and that Spielberg was behind it 100%. Yeah, uh huh...

Now my question is will the man/beast plot using a different lead be Sly's next movie? It seems the man is trying to single-handedly bring back the 80's/90's action genre. With the Rambo movies, The Expendables, and the man/peast plot with a different lead...good for him.
