Sony Pictures Remaking Fathers and Guns

Sony Pictures has acquired remake rights to the French-Canadian box office hit Fathers and Guns, reports Variety.

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will develop the project and produce alongside the original film's Denise Robert and Emile Gaudreault.

The action-comedy revolves around two cops -- a father-and-son team who can't stand each other. They are assigned to an investigation to infiltrate an outdoor adventure group/therapy camp for fathers and sons.

Gaudreault wrote and directed the original film, and Robert produced.

Where do the 'guns' in the title come from? Are French-Canadian cops allowed to even carry guns?

in french the title dont use the word 'guns'. they use it for americans to help them understand the movie.. with some guns its easier for them to feel better in the cinema

In french it's "de Père en Flic" which would to translate to "From Father to cop". In French, Flic = cop but also Fils = son so it's easier to see the "jeu de mots"...

Hmm....sounds like the direct translation of the title would make more sense. Fathers And Guns is just a weird title.

I hate ****ing remake.. why they cant just put an english voice in studio on quebec actor like everybody else do with english movie..... they love waste the money in Hollywood....
