Len Wiseman to Direct Nocturne

November 9, 2009

The Hollywood Reporter says that 20th Century Fox has bought an untitled pitch (going by the name "Nocturne") about the end of the world, with Live Free or Die Hard and "Underworld" helmer Len Wiseman in talks to direct and produce.

The project is based on an original idea about a group of people who survive the end of the world and the mystery surrounding how they got to that position. The studio is seeking writers for the project.

Wiseman is attached to Atlantis Rising and Shrapnel but does not have a go picture.

UM i think people are getting pretty tired of these popcorn Disaster movies already, after the film "2012", there nothing better then that, unless theres a ID4 sequel.

really? "an original idea?" really? and they just coincidentally named it"Nocturne?" I guess no one ever heard of the video game Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. The basic premise is exactly the same. How in the sweet crap is this supposed to be an original idea?

I am hugely disappointed. I thought this was going to be an adaptation of Stephen Colbert's Lady Nocturne: A Tek Janson Adventure. =(

I hope these films all become successful - maybe then we'll get some of those old-school disaster flicks like Damnation Alley or Neon City on DVD finally
