Kick-Ass Character Posters Revealed

Lionsgate has provided us with four character posters for the Matthew Vaughn-directed comic book adaptation Kick-Ass, opening in theaters on April 16.

The action-adventure, based on the Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. comic, tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

You can check out the posters, which together spell out the title "Kick-Ass," by clicking on the poster below.

Awesome! such a good graphic novel. post 2006 Cage has been shaky but i think he's making a return to better roles. hes gotten rave reviews for bad lieutenant. his costume looks sweet. so does kick asses.

Doesn't the Big Daddy poster look like a from-behind shot of Magneto? Posters aren't bad though. Can't wait for a trailer.

I don't read graphic novels myself, nothing against them, I just keep forgetting to pick one up. These posters have a ton of humor though. Should be the ZOMBIELAND of the superherographic novel genre.

Hell yeah! Looks great. And I agree 'mccoy,' was thinking the same thing, as far as the Zombieland the comparison. Can't wait for a trailer to see how these costumes look in context.
