Galifianakis to Voice Puss in Boots Character

Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) is in negotiations to voice Humpty Dumpty in "Shrek" spin-off Puss in Boots, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Wheeler is writing the screenplay for the prequel, which will feature the voices of Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in a story about the events leading up to the feline assassin's first meeting with Shrek & Co. in the second film.

Chris Miller, who co-directed and co-wrote Shrek the Third. wrote an earlier draft of the "Puss" screenplay and is directing the DreamWorks Animation movie.

The film is scheduled for a November 4, 2011 release.

they started 'bigging' this film up when shrek 2 came out, i thought it was in production already! they aren't half taking their time.. while i'm not a huge fan of the series i didn't see a major difference in quality between the films so i'm kinda looking forward to this too

I agree. I was dissapointed with Shrek the Third so I am not looking forward to the fourth Shrek when it comes out next May. I thought adding little baby shreks were pointless and not necessary and they only did it to make the film cute and appeal to the female, baby loving audience.

I read it as though Galifianakis was voicing Puss in Boots. Left me wondering where Banderas had gone. Now it makes sense.

My bad. I know who Zach Galifianakis is. Duh, the hangover. I just never knew his name. He got his start on Tru Calling.
