Boyle and Searchlight Reteam for 127 Hours

Danny Boyle will direct 127 Hours for Fox Searchlight. The film tells the story of mountaineer Aron Ralston.

Ralston's right forearm got pinned for nearly five days under a boulder during a climb in Utah in May 2003. He used a dull knife to amputate the limb, then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before running into a family that gave him water and food.

Boyle has written a treatment, and Simon Beaufoy is in talks to write the script, and Christian Colson will produce. It would be a reunion of the team behind eight-time Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire.

Filming will begin next year for a late 2010 release.

Danny Boyle has been progressively becoming a better and better film maker over the last decade. Hopefully he can pace this one right, with the right atmosphere. I dont think he has ever tackled a
true story either. Should be interesting.

What... 28 Days later wasn't based on a true story? Bollix.

But in all seriousness Danny Boyle is in the top tear of filmmakers out today. Each film he tackles is completely different subject matter from the last. Looking forward to this one.

what a waste of talent. The story doesnt have nearly enough depth to be a compelling movie. Ugh. What a stupid idea.
