This looks dull and cliche. I swear every government/military movie in the past 5 years was written in 10 minutes.
Why would big budget Hollywood shoot digital? It looks like the quality of my friend's camcorder films.

The film is based off an adaptation of an award winning book written by a journalist for the Washington Post about the transfer of power at the end of the Iraqi war.

Hollywood is shooting digital because, quite frankly, it is faster and cheaper. Digital is quickly catching up to 35mm film and has taken massive leaps over the past few years. The only time it is considerably noticeable is in low-light situations where they are cranking the grain. Personally, I think it looks beautiful.

Fruthermore, your friend most of one outstanding camcorder.

So basically it is Jason Bourne under an alias in Iraq! It looks interesting but, I'd like to see Greengrass venture out a little more.Plus another War on Terror film, hasn't Hollywood figured out that no one is interested at this time in those movies(Lions for Lambs, The Kingdom, Body of Lies, etc.) They have all performed far under the predicted gross by the studios. What until this conflict is over and then crank out a best picture on the subject like Platoon!

Looks good, at least the shaky camera isn't too bad.

matt damon is a good actor and knows how to pick out his roles (rounders, the departed, the bourne trilogy) i'm pretty sure this movie will be good.
