There's been a lot of news the last few days on George Miller's Mad Max 4. First there were casting rumors, and just two days later it was confirmed that the movie had started pre-production.

Miller invited the local press to check out some of the cars that will be featured in the film and he addressed the casting rumors. You can check out Australia's ABC News behind-the-scenes video, featuring Miller talking about the production, using the player below!

Whatever Mr. Miller. At least TRY to get Gibson on board for a cameo, maybe a good depressing one to show just how much Max has aged over the years where he's not the warrior he used to be...otherwise drop Mad Max from the title.

If Miller wants to make a movie about the same post-apocalyptic world the Mad Max movies took place in, then fine. But if it's not about Max, don't call it Mad Max 4.

No Mel, no Max.

Maybe they should just make it a remake like all the other Hollywood films.

This guy is a dried up relic of the 80's - wasn't he the douche bag that wanted to film a ****ed up Justice League movie with a bunch of nobodies and models last year? I smell an old man running out of moolah!
Seriously, don't even MAKE this Mad Max if Mel's not in it.
It would be extremely funny if this terrible idea got shouted down like his terrible Justice League idea!
It would be sign you should take notice of, you crazy old man.

if it is set in the future why do all the cars use gas? Wouldn't it have solar power cars?

Nice point Mark. That would make for real interesting action. They'd be smashing into each other at 20 mph.

At one minute forty seven seconds when asked if Mel Gibson was an option George Miller's response was everyone's an option but the problem is they don't all work in this country. He didn't say either yes or no to Mel's involvement.

Without Mel involved in some capacity, this movie will FAIL!!! Get over it Miller! Sure, Mel has made some mistakes in his life but haven't we all? Suck it up and bring back the man we all know and love as Mad Max! DAMN!
