The Weinstein Company has provided ComingSoon.net with a first look at the new poster for direct John Hillcoat's The Road, opening in theaters on November 25th.

Viggo Mortensen, Robert Duvall, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Kodi Smit McPhee star in the big-screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's best-selling, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel – the story of a man (Mortensen) and his young son (Smit-McPhee) traveling through a desperate, post-apocalyptic world.

Yuck poster. Looks like an 8th grader was trying to make a lolcat poster. I'll see the film though, once I finished the book.

Film posters these days are so clichéd and generally pretty awful. Why can't they get some proper creativity into film posters, like the good old days.

Sorry, but that looks like a low budget straight to video DVD cover.

Wow... One of the worst movie posters I've ever seen. Way to sell your movie short there. It doesn't even attempt to capture the gloom of the book OR the movie. Even the tagline is exceptionally lame, and has nothing to do with the entire point of the story. I still can't wait to see the movie, despite the studio's apparent efforts to convince us all otherwise.

DUH Viggo obviously plays a post-apocalyptic crossing guard. Cant you see he wont let the boy cross the road.
