Inglorious Basterds Coming Home December 15

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that it will release Quentin Tarantino's summer blockbuster Inglorious Basterds on Blu-ray and DVD December 15th. Here are the full specs:

Starring Academy Award® nominee Brad Pitt (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Burn After Reading) in an audacious, adrenaline-packed, high-octane World War II revenge fantasy, Inglourious Basterds has been hailed as one of Tarantino's most stylish and entertaining films to date. SYNOPSIS

In the first year of the German occupation of France, Shosanna Dreyfus (Melanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Never seen it yet but I must say that was pretty fast of it coming to DVD. Thats how all movies need to be. Be in movie theaters for only a few months than come to DVD.

...you know, this is all fine and dandy, and of course, I plan to be the first person at my local video store, to get my grubby fingers on this video release; however, what the heck happened to the epic director's cut edition of "Kill Bill" (...as in "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair")? Or the home video version of the thratrical cut of "Grindhouse", with Tarantino's initial cut of "Death Proof". I think that we've waited long enough, right folks??

I am so excited that this is coming out soon. I saw it in theatre and was very impressed as I didn't have very high expectations. Even with the blood it was still entertaining and funny!

the whole 1978 movie? what do they mean by " a salute to the original film?"
