Screenwriter Ann Peacock (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) will pen Airman for Disney and Robert Zemeckis' ImageMovers, reports Variety.

Gil Kenan is directing and Zemeckis, Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey are producing the $150 million motion-capture fantasy adventure through their ImageMovers.

Based on the book by Eoin Colfer, the swashbuckling scientific story centers on Conor Broekhart, a young man born in a hot air balloon to a family close to the king who has a penchant for looking to the skies for inspiration.

After his tutor and king are murdered, Broekhart spends two years in prison, escapes and must decide whether to should turn his back on those who abandoned him or fight those who plot to overthrow the government.

Zemeckis does a good job with motion-capture. But he really needs to take a break from it.

Would be nice to see him do live-action again.

I've actually read this book and it's pretty good. As I read it, I always imagined it as a film, maybe not motion capture but still...could be interesting.

How about instead of adapting this Eoin Colfer book, they get Artemis Fowl off the ground first?

Not to mention, why spend $150 million motion capturing something that's not a sure thing? Look how Beowulf turned out...

Why does Zemeckis keeps insisting on producing motion capture??? It looks pretty weird, if not scary, besides if it's costing that much in motion capture why not doing it in live action??

Does anyone really enjoy the motion capture films? Why is Zemeckis SO caught up in it? Despite the fact that they are nice to look at, the characters still come across as cold and flat (in terms of expression and affect). More traditional animation (including Pixar's stuff) is much better at rendering emotion.
