Jackie Earle Haley is the Green Lantern Villain?

Ain't It Cool News is reporting an interesting rumor that Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach Watchmen and stars as Freddy Krueger in the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street, is the frontrunner to play Green Lantern villain Sinestro.

Not only that, but the site says that Superman may make a cameo appearance as well!

Green Lantern, to be directed by Martin Campbell and starring Ryan Reynolds, is targeting a June 17, 2011 release date.

To me Sinestro needs to be played by someone that looks like Clare Gable but can go insane like Al Pachino in Scarface, Jackie Earle Haley may have the insane part down really good but he doesn't have that look for it. Sinestro needs to be played by someone who can come accross with a commanding personality while being evil at the same time.

DUMMMB as hell mabe superman would work if routh is in but y would he b in it if there is not going 2 b a justice league movie EVER and is'nt Renolds twice the size of JEH is'nt suppose 2 b the other way around...............i smell catwoman movie bomb all over this

While I think he would do a good job as Sinestro, I don't want to see this talented actor become type casted.

As much as I'd rather see Hugo Weaving or Guy Pearce get the part, this isn't a bad choice. Kind of pictured Sinestro being taller...but JEH isn't a bad actor.

I just want a damn Green Lantern film right now!

My first choice was Matthew Fox but this works too.

While I love Superman, a cameo appearance just seems a tad inappropriate.

at Stan: dude! there was no hint of an Ultimate Alliance movie when jackson showed up in ironman. now there is! so don't get your panties in a bunch. DC is smart! they didn't sell to disney! and this sounds to me like of course they are gonna do a JL!!!
