The Playlist alerted us that Evan Rachel Wood and Toby Kebbell have joined the cast of Robert Redford's The Conspirator.

They join James McAvoy, Robin Wright Penn and Justin Long in the period drama based on true events following the assassination of President Lincoln. Wright Penn will play Mary Surratt, the only woman among a group charged with conspiring to kill the president. McAvoy plays Frederick Aiken, an idealistic young war hero who reluctantly defends Surratt and in the process comes to believe she is innocent. Long is playing Aiken's best friend, a one-armed Civil War veteran.

Evan Rachel Wood is said to be playing Wright Penn's daughter Anna Surratt, while Kebbell has been cast as the assassin John Wilkes Booth.

The project is currently shooting in Savannah, Georgia and the site has received reports and set photos which you can view here.

These set photos look awesome! I am so looking forward to this film. James McAvoy is one of my favorite actors. I love historical dramas.

Evan Rachel Wood is a very annoying chick. She was terrible on True Blood.

Pinkus, couldn't agree more. Horrible casting by the True Blood people. She totally takes you out of every scene she's in with what she calls "acting"; painful to watch. Can't understand for the life of me why she gets so much work. If she's not currently dating Shia LaBeouf, she needs to be.
