Diablo Cody to Pen Playboy Movie?

Hugh Hefner may have spilled the beans about who is writing Universal's Playboy movie on the magazine founder's life. On Twitter, Hefner posted:

Meeting with Diablo COdy to talk about the Brian Grazer Playboy film today.

It was previously announced that John Hoffman was writing the script for the biopic, which had Brett Ratner attached to direct.

The Cody-penned Jennifer's Body opened earlier this month. It was her follow-up to the hit Juno.

What consistently surprises me is that some people THINK she's a terrific writer. That includes the morons at the Academy that gave her the award.

Hmmm . . . the PLAYBOY movie written by Diablo Cody -- would she even get the feel of 1950's-era (and beyond) hedonism right? Brett Ratner certainly seems a left-field choice for directing the project as well. This movie needs a director who does character-driven work, not comicbook action movies. See what Baz Luhrmann could do with the project, eh?

First Sweet Vally High, now this? I'm convinced, SHE was the one who sacrificed someone to the Devil to become famous.. only hers didn't go wrong, though her success makes no sense at all..

Oh and Ratner doing one of her scripts is going to be like him doing Rush Hour with both Chan and Tucker hopped up on the worst drugs any one could find, a mess of high energy words no one understands (and wont fit into the time line of the movie). And this movie will fail.. Hef deserves better then this.
