Columbia Pictures and director David Fincher have cast Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield in The Social Network, the drama about the formation of Facebook written by Aaron Sorkin.

Eisenberg will play Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg; Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook's founding president; and Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg over money.

Production will begin next month in Boston and then move to Los Angeles.

Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Cean Chaffin will produce. Kevin Spacey is executive producer.

...Wait, for real? Fincher, shouldn't you be doing The Goon or Heavy Metal? This just seemed like one of those random projects that fall through simply because of the audacity of it existing as an idea in the first place.

If it's directed by Fincher and written by Sorkin, I don't really care what it's about. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

Thank you PabloC. I agree, there's some major talent behind this movie, and that's good enough for me. And justin timberlake is a rlly talented person, all the way around. He's looked down upon way too much

Y'know, as terrible of an idea as this sounds, I admit I want to see how it all turns out.

i really think this will be a hot topic around it's release. obviously, the fincher/sorkin combo draws a crowd, but i think the casting of j.t. and eisenberg will hook in the younger generation. won't be surprised if this is a great film

The hell? David Fincher directs the Facebook movie?

This is like having "James Cameron's Search: The Rise of Google" or "Peter Jackson's Golden Arches: The McDonalds Story".

Still, with Fincher, a good movie is possible, so what the hell, I'll keep an eye on it.

Fincher you're disappointing me with this. And Justin Timberlake? What the hell. I'll pass.

The movie sounds like it should be made for TV like the movie about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates that aired on TNT years ago.
