Edward James Olmos Boards Green Hornet

August 10, 2009

Hollywood Snitch learned from "Battlestar Galactica" star Edward James Olmos this weekend that he has landed a role in Columbia Pictures' The Green Hornet. The site reports:

I spoke with actor Edward James Olmos yesterday at Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con. Among discussing his past ("Blade Runner") and present ("Battlestar Galactica" and the upcoming TV film), he dropped he said of his future plans that he will be joining Michel Gondry's "The Green Hornet."

"I'm on my way to do 'The Green Hornet,'" Olmos told me. "It'll be a lot of fun with Seth [Rogen], Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz."

There's no word yet on what role he might play. The studio announced on Friday that Jay Chou will play Kato in the July 9, 2010 release. Michel Gondry direct.

I met Mr. Olmos a few weeks ago in Cleveland and had a very lengthy conversation with him - very nice and smart man; I'm very excited to see what kind of role he'll be playing in this. I wish I'd known, I would've had him sign some GH memorabilia.

I think he might be playing D.A. Frank Scanlon. On the tv show Scanlon worked with Reid/Hornet to help bring down the baddies.

antihero, you realize that this site isnt just in the US right? By the name, Id be willing to bet that Jean is French and he deserves kudos for even trying to write English, if thats the case. Why all the hate? Stephen Chow has done several great movies and this would have been right up his ally. It really doesnt matter who plays Kato as Im sure you remember that he doesnt speak much anyway other than "Ok boss" or "Yeah boss" but I would have like to see Chow direct this. At any rate, its not nearly serious enough for all of the aggression antihero

Is this the 'Land of the Lost' for summer 2010? I hope I'm wrong.
