The Science-Fact Behind Surrogates

Source:Wired
August 5, 2009

Wired magazine has debuted this new featurette on the science-fact behind Surrogates, the Jonathan Mostow-directed sci-fi thriller opening in theaters on September 25.

In the film, FBI agents (Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves—fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles—enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who's real and who can you trust?

lol Jonathan Mostow...i hope you all remember that he was the one who first wrecked the Terminator series before McG. this guy is doing sci-fi?? notice the robotic voice is the same as the one he used for the alert system at cyberdyne systems in T3 "all military systems have been infected"...this guy is a JOKE... he should go back to repairing shoes or whatever he used to do...and leave sci-fi to real directors like jim camreon. and i hate how he talks like he is such a professional and pays attnetion to detail....yaeh we have seen your work in the past mr mostow....and a college kid could make a better movie.

@ Leonard McCoy
you are absolutely right that sci-fi is back... star trek was good..District 9 would be awesome...and they should definately greenlight the HALO movie with peter jackson producing and Neil Blomkamp directing the guy is a genius and he will be huge..
Avatar will be revolutionary . if anyone knows how to do good sci-fi its jim cameron....and i hope all the transformer fan-boys see it and learn to appreciate what real sci-fi is...its not big explosions btw michael bay

Ridley scott is directing a prequel to "Alien"..super exciting news..

But as far as "Surrogates" it wil stink because jonathan mostow is doing it...and nothing that this guy can do can be orignial or imaginative...the day this guy directs a good movie...i'll stop watching movies!

Aug 14- District 9
Dec-18- Avatar!!!!!

I am also glad more science fiction is being made. Sometimes cheesy Sci-Fi is better than a lot of the stupid movies being turned out lately. I am especially excited for District 9! That looks awesome!
