SDCC: Stewart and Bettany Talk Priest

July 24, 2009

Legion director Scott Stewart and star Paul Bettany talked to ShockTillYouDrop.com about the next project they are working on together, Priest, which is expected to start shooting late next month. An adaptation of a TokyoPop comic book, the story is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Screen Gems is targeting an August 13, 2010 release.

@ C'mon!!

What the hell are you talking about? there are bearly any more vampire movies coming out now than before. While i am annoyed that a movie like twilight (echhh) had to give the vampire movie the attention it deserves i'm not complaining. yet.....i am worried because these movies are mostly being made to cash in on crazy twilight vampire type fans who love anything vampire, i support more vampire movies like Let The Right One In and Thirst, Or the Underworld series....as long as they stay away from twilight and don't rip off buffy he vampire slayer, i'm fine.

This gets made, but Preacher can't find a home on some sort of screen? It's not right.

Crap ... this story has nothing to do with the Original Korean Comic Book wich is more interesting, and there's no vampire in it.

I'm with you Cmon. I'm sick of the vampire movies, and I'm definately sick of the zombie movies.

I want to see a movie in the vein of Reign of Fire, but instead of unearthing dragons, they unearth an entombed lich. Then you could have all manners of undead running around slaughtering people. But with a better story... and without Matthew McConaughey.

wow Paul Bettany sure likes to pick religious-background films to be in.. Priest, Legion, Creation, Da Vinci Code. Kinda Strange
