Stephen Chow Exits Green Hornet Completely

Source:Columbia Pictures

First he was going to direct and co-star as Kato in Columbia Pictures' Green Hornet, then he was only set to play Kato, and now Stephen Chow has exited the film completely due to scheduling conflicts.

"There was a mutual and amicable decision by both sides to move on," said the studio in a statement. "We are out now to cast a new Kato and remain fully committed to Michel Gondry's exciting vision for the film, which will begin production this September."

Seth Rogen will play the title role in the action-adventure scheduled for a July 9, 2010 release.

Damn that really does suck, honestly that is one of the worst decesions that Columbia picture's made was not allowing Stephen Chow to write and direct this movie, it just went from potentially being something fresh and fun to mediocre superhero comedy

no real suprise there...it has been on the cards for a while. Creative differences i believe will be the reasoning given !
i believe it may have just lost any semblance of the style that would be needed now that Chow has left the building !

Lol I'm tired of people calling Seth Rogen talentless...
I want you to try repeating some of his lines from any film of his, and be as funny or believable...

Stephen Chow would have been the only reason I would have seen this movie. Seth who?!?! They really were making the Green Hornet Movie just like the TV series. Think about it, who played the original Green Hornet...anyone, anyone... We all just know Bruce Lee played Kato...like we all just know Stephen Chow. Seth Rogan made a couple crappy comedies and now they want to make him a superhero in league with Batman....seriously... Stephen Chow quit...fine...quit the film unless this Tony Jaa is any good, never heard of him...Oh...the Ong Bak guy...just get Jackie Chan and that would be the end of it!

Jim I agree sony screwed the pooch when they let that sweet deal slip out of their hands. Stephen Chow is pretty good and would be the only reason I would have seen the film but once again another film studio screwing it up for everyone GO FIGURE!!!!
