Randall Wallace to Rewrite Captain Nemo

July 8, 2009

Randall Wallace (Braveheart) has been brought aboard to rewrite Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Disney's take on the classic Jules Verne character being directed by McG, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film aims to tell the origin of Captain Nemo and his submarine warship, the Nautilus. Nemo is a mysterious but noble antagonist in the book, a scientific genius with a thirst for knowledge and a desire for revenge against the forces of imperialism.

The script previously was worked by Bill Marsilii and Justin Marks.

To "McF"

If you knew anything about the guy, you would know "McG" is the first three letters of his last name. It isn't something made up like "50 Cent" or "Sting", but letters that make up the guy's last name. I don't know why he gets a bad rap, he is a talented director. Sure he directed a crappy Charlies Angels film, so the hell what? Did you see We Are Marshal? How about the new Terminator? He is a talented director. All of Spielberg's films aren't great either....

T4 was okay, better than T3 but not as good as T2. The whole "McG" thing really doesn't add add credibility. Oh so whats your name? McG...haha what a knob!

The "McG" bashing is just clueless. How many directors have/had an alias? Chuck Russell, Chuck Jones, Jan Kounen, John Woo, and so forth... It's not unusual, nor an offense. Get a clue.

Wasn't the one with Kirk Douglas a Disney film? Back way, way, way in the day when Disney wasn't just PIXAR and Pirates...

Don't blame McG for T4. The movie and feeling of it was right. If you're going to bash anyone over it it should be the writers.

McG was smart enough to get involved with Supernatural...after that I got nothin.

Any chance Naseeruddin Shah could play Nemo? He was the best thing about the LXG movie.
