veiw-master, before it was a toy, was used for education, entertainment, and military applications. with a little imagination, i can see this movie taking on some fun angles.
"A young boy, rummaging through his dead grandfather's attic discovers an old-fashined ViewMaster toy with a big stack of picture disks.
Putting the toy up to his face, he sees a classic travelogue scene of a tropical beach. He clicks the switch on the side, and the view changes to a close up of the beach, this time with his dead grandfather standing on it.
When he takes frantically looks away from the ViewMaster he finds that he has, in fact been transported to that beach where his grandfather is fleeing a marauding band of pirates!
Once they escape, his Grandfather shows him how they can use the device to visit other alternate worlds together, and adventure ensues . . . "
It will probably suck, but it would be easy to make.
