Ready for a View-Master Movie?

"Fringe" co-producer/writer Brad Caleb Kane will be writing a movie based on the View-Master toy, which first came on the market in 1939.

He announced on his Twitter account that after he's done penning the sci-fi action-adventure Uprising for director Wolfgang Petersen and Columbia Pictures, he will take on the project for DreamWorks Pictures.

Kane says Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Fringe," Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek) are behind the film and that it will be "like the old 80's Amblin movies: Goonies, Young Sherlock... In that vein."

The viewers have changed quite a bit over the years, but for a history of the toy, you can go here. Fisher-Price's official site for the View-Master is here.

lol @ Andy The Raw!

When I read the story, I had the same instinct. But then I saw that everyone else thought of the same joke I did, and I did what life has taught me to do under such circumstances: I refrained from making the joke.

As someone with an easy-to-rhyme name (not my screen name), I'd like to recommend that everyone practice the same restraint. For instance, if someone's name makes you think of a particular joke, DON'T MAKE THE JOKE. They've heard it before.

So the next time you get the urge to say to someone, "Hey, Jay, what'd'ya say", or "Yo, Joe, what'd'ya know", or "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia", or "Help me, Rhonda", or "Dan The Man", for god's sake, save yourself some embarrassment and just DON'T.

This has been a public service announcement.

guys, notwithstanding the harsh comments, i really do think there are potentials in some boardgames out there now. Does not everyone think that The Game of Life could be an epic, grandiose, overarching, sweeping, multi-layered period drama?

Or that Hopscotch could be a thrilling, inspirational, life-changing, provocative, rousing and most importantly of all, groovy dance masterpiece?

seriously, such potential!

its really our way of providing a satirical angle on these developments.

hollywood needs to know that its viewers arent lifeless beings who flock to the theaters all the time even if their concepts are downright ridiculous.

its insulting, frankly speaking.

well, since it's going 2 Dreamworks, they'll probably have Shrek land, Madagascar land, and maybe something from Spielburg himself

All you little no nothing twerps rant as if it's yor money in the budget...and because you have no imagination lay your stupidity on the industrry. There is talent in Hollywood that could make a block buster out of a Popsickle Stick story. Spend Mommy's money or don't on a ticket although most of you tards are fee downloading anyway...just understand no body of any import gives a rotten turd what you think...even IF you ever did. Only a couple of years ago somebody had to wipe your butt for you so what the hell do you know? SICK OF PUNKS!

I hear the CGI special effects for the Play Dough movie are going to make it the tentpole summer movie of 2011. But watch out! It'll have competition from the Silly Putty and Tinkertoy blockbusters planned that summer.
