Columbia Pictures has provided ComingSoon.net with a new restricted clip from The Ugly Truth, featuring Katherine Heigl, Gerard Butler... and vibrating panties!

In the R-rated comedy, opening July 24th, Abby Richter (Heigl) is a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. She's in for a rude awakening when her bosses team her with Mike Chadway (Butler), a hardcore TV personality who promises to spill the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick.

Anyway...this movie looks hilarious! And yes Jeff Mangum, Butler is trying to sound American, because the producers of American movies seem to think that is what is required. Ridiculous in today's world.

The expression on Butler's face is priceless. I thought his accent is not too bad in this. Now I really want to find out what happens at the end, especially to Colin. There must be a big revelation about Mike at the end that totally changes Abby's view about Mike, from loathing to presumably falling in love. Butler is a hoot, a perfect cast for the role.

I don't understand why the control fell out of her purse or even why she had it with her to begin with. Her conversation was total nonsense, she sounded stupid. It was kind of a low-brow, poorly written version of the orgasm scene from "When Harry Met Sally". I get it, yeah yeah orgasms are funny, but Butler's expression was the only thing that made me smirk. However, his so-called American accent - not good. I'm kind of exhausted by all the English, Irish, & Scottish actors doing bad generic American accents & not getting called on it. This movie might sell as counter-marketing against the summer blockbusters, but it'll die a fast death.
