The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Starts Filming Aug. 17

July 1, 2009

Summit Entertainment will film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse from August 17th until October 31st at Vancouver Film Studios. David Slade (30 Days of Night) will direct from a script by Melissa Rosenberg.

In the third installment of the franchise, coming to theaters on June 30, 2010, Bella (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

The second film, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, hits theaters on November 20 and was directed by Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass).

Wouldn't it be ironic if New Moon completely tanks? Then they have a filmed third film for which they don't know if anybody wants.

All I can say is barf! The most annoying this is that I live in Vancouver and the whole population just goes nuts when they are here, it's pretty annoying.

Lets look at the bright side...seems that the studios will be squeezing these turds out in a record pace, so we'll be done with this franchise with in a couple of years. And after that, the only life this franchise will see will be in Hot Topic.

Wow, it's really sad that such directing talent is involved in this ****. Chris Weitz should have been busy directing a worthy film like the second book for "The Golden Compass" which was a fantastic film.

David Slade should also be directing better stories than this. "30 Days of Night" was amazing.

"...With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life."

You have got to be f#cking kidding me?!

WOW. That is fast. They don't even know if anybody wants to see this! And they are filming it in 2 and a half months? What? So, it's gonna be a 75 min. direct-to-dvd movie. Okay, I got it.

Great. More vampires who sparkle in the light.

"They don't just sparkle!"

What do you call it then?

"That's how the author wrote it! That's who they really are!"

They're not vampires...

"Yes they are!"

Sparkle Motion.

The reason they have to crank them out so quickly is because Edward is suppose to be stuck in time - he isn't suppose to age - obviously Robert Pattinson can't help but do that.

And the most important decision in Bella's life isn't between Edward and Jacob, its between humanity and being a vampire.

And obviously, with 39 million fans...the 2nd, 3rd and 4th installments are going to make money.
