An international trailer for Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's action-thriller Gamer is now online and can be watched using the player below. Opening September 4, the film stars Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Alison Lohman, Amber Valletta, Logan Lerman, Kyra Sedgwick, Ludacris, John Leguizamo, Zoe Bell and Terry Crews.

Gamer is set in a near future when gaming and entertainment have evolved into a terrifying new hybrid. Humans control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online games: people play people... for keeps. Mind-control technology is widespread, and at the heart of the controversial games is its creator, reclusive billionaire Ken Castle (Hall). His latest brainchild, the first-person shooter game "Slayers," allows millions to act out their most savage fantasies online in front of a global audience, using real prisoners as avatars with whom they fight to the death.

Kable (Butler) is the superstar and cult hero of the ultraviolent "Slayers." Kable is controlled by Simon, a young gamer with rock star status who continues to defy all odds by guiding Kable to victory each week. Taken from his family, imprisoned and forced to fight against his will, the modern day gladiator must survive long enough to escape the game to free his family, regain his identity and to save mankind from Castle's ruthless technology.

I really hope this is good. I'm worried tho.

I love the cast and the idea. Not sure if it will all work. guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Based on the trailer I saw with Transformers, this movie reminds me A LOT of The Condemned. Same kind of scenario, where the winner gets released from prison. The only difference here is is that it takes place in the future and the reality part of it is the person "controlling" the character? I saw The Condemned and wasnt all that impressed so IF I choose to see this, it will wait for DVD

This movie reminds me alot of Death Race with the whole prisoners get set free after surviving 30 times. Tis also an interesting idea though and I hope it's gd.

Whoa, this looks so cool! I am so going to see this in September, awesome action scenes and total out of this world special effects. Was it me or did Gerard Butler look hotter and more buffed up than usual? Also Michael C Hall is a hoot, he will be brilliant in this I assure you. Can't wait, really exicted now!
