I was thinking the same thing. This si the closest I'll ever get to seeing Crowe play Maximus again.

This movie looks lame. Is that just me thinking this? Wouldn't be the first time. P.S. how do you unlodge your penis from a headphone jack?

Salt out.

Just need to see him with a bow and arrow already, yeesh. I expect good things from it, but it seems to be turning away too much from the iconic imagery that people think of when they think of Robin Hood.

I still can't believe there are people who think the Kevin Costner version was good. The cinematography was awful, there is zero sense of scale at all in the movie. Costner himself played Robin with a "why bother even trying" British accent, and the whole movie had this ugly dirty look to it.

Not to mention Rickman (who otherwise is obviously an incredible actor) played the Sheriff almost as campy as humanly possible, plus the part where the Sheriff tries to rape Marion was in particularly bad taste. Men in Tights did a great job mocking all of things that were wrong with the Costner version.

The movie definitely belongs in the 90's. All that said I really can't wait to see what Ridley Scott comes up with.

Russell Crowe is always russell crowe. Cant separate himself from a character. So that always ruins his movies. Just seems like its russell crowe in the west, middle ages, roman times.

I think Russell Crowe is one of the few actors who actually makes himself different for each role he plays, much like Johnny Depp and Daniel Day-Lewis. Look how different Crowe is in movies such as The Insider, A Beautiful Mind, L.A. Confidential, Cinderella Man, Gladiator, and Master & Commander.
