Mickey Rourke Talks Iron Man 2

The Guardian spoke to Mickey Rourke about playing a villain in Iron Man 2. Here's an excerpt from the interview:

And Iron Man 2, in which he plays Tony Stark's tattooed Russian nemesis, Ivan, is possibly the biggest movie yet in Rourke's new career. For Rourke this means going to Russia, drinking vodka and visiting jails to study prison tattoos and find his character's tics. "I decided to do half my role in Russian," he beams, "and that's hard because the Russian language doesn't roll off the English-speaking tongue very easily. I spent three hours a day with a teacher, and after two weeks I know four sentences! Let me see, it's sort of like... 'Yezzamee menya... Yezzamee manya obott... Er, nemaboootty menya...'"

This goes on for quite some time. "It means," he says, finally, "If someone kills me, don't wake me up, because I'd rather be dead than live in your world."

This is stupid. I know you americans don't really give a crap but when you talk russian it sounds stupid. Damn it! I thought I'll never see another movie like TRANSPORTER 3 or HITMAN again... but here you go. Another ruined movie. If they just did a russian accent it would be fine but WHY TALK? It sounds stupid! And the worst part of this is that YOU GUYS DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND! You don't understand how effing stupid it sounds to other people. I'm not russian, ok? But I know the language and... DAMN IT! WHY? I love the first movie! I thought the 2nd one is going to be great but... meh...

Here's the weird part. None of the Crimson Dynamos were named Ivan; though they were Russian. Whiplash's name is Mark Scarlotti. So, if he is playing Whiplash, then Favs must've changed the last name or the first name, or had him as of Ukranian-Russian and Italian descent.

I'm sure Mickster will do a good job and the suit and action will be awesome but it sounds like they're going for a combination of the two villains and changing the name. Not cool.

first he all about it untill he gets the oscar nod. He tells the world he doesn't want to do it. He gets shot down at the oscar now he is all about iron man. He is a washed up actor. I'm glad he did win the oscar for best actor. I rather see tom cruise or matt damen play the role
