Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for director Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Kelly Reilly and Eddie Marsan. We described the trailer in our coverage from ShoWest, but you can watch the trailer for yourself in various formats right here.

The action-adventure-mystery, opening Christmas Day, sends Holmes (Downey Jr.) and his stalwart partner Watson (Law) on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.

Looks alright, didn't realize McAdams was in the movie, she looks pretty cute. I'm just not fond at Law at all, guy annoys me.

Although I always like a new take on a classic, I'm not too sure about this. This doesn't feel like something Sherlock Holmes would do. He's not James Bond. He's a detective. But I'll still go see this anyway just for the entertainment.

Am i the only one who thinks the whole slow motion then rapid action sequences in films are getting a little old? I mean 300, Watchmen, Snatch. these movies are good enough without such goofiness.
