Keanu Reeves is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Universal Pictures is developing a modern retelling of the classic novella "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," with Keanu Reeves attached to star and Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) penning the script.

The Hollywood Reporter says Nicolas Winding Refn is in negotiations to direct the project, titled Jekyll. It is being produced by Erwin Stoff and Red Wagon Entertainment's Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher.

While plot details for this film are being kept under wraps, Robert Louis Stevenson's tale--about a doctor who scientifically develops an evil self--has been adapted many times before for the big screen and stage.

Hopefully they make it fun and entertaining. I want another Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure without the other guy. I like Keanu in movies, but he needs to do non-drama and non-romance flicks.

omg nooooooooo i like keanu but he sucks at acting. he did good in day earth stood still ONLY BECAUSE he was an alien. no personailty in none of his rolesss. this is a disgrace to robert stevenson

I've been waiting for a new Jekyll/Hyde movie, but I don't think Keanu would be right for the role. If anyone, I'd pick someone like Hugh Laurie to play Jekyll.

Of all the actors working today I wouldn't have picked Ted Theodor Logan to portray two DIFFERENT characters in the same flick. Awful casting.

Oh gosh...first Spike Spielgel (Cowboy Bebop) now this!!? ...I kinda like Keanu as a person; I just wish that he would quite the acting business.

Ok now. I believe that Mr. Reeves acting ability is substantially below par compared to others. And CGI. But maybe this will be his chance to show the people up. Brava, Mr. Reeves. I hope you manage this one with care. Tap into your dark side. Wyld Stallyns Rule!
